Calendar of Events
So many things to do over the summer up here in Grey/Bruce — but you’ll want to mark these ones down!
Showroom Opening the May 24 & 25 weekend! Lots of pots in the showroom! Visiting artisans, works in clay, cloth, herbal creams/salves, etc. We’ll have libations and treats … worth the drive to TARA!
Studio Tour! July 6 & 7. Two artists in one location … to make it worth the drive to TARA! We’ll have demos, and the libations — and don’t forget that there are two other artists in Tara as well, right on the main street!
Art on the Fence. August 3 in downtown Southampton on the main street by the water. I’ll be there (probably beside a fence!)
The Art Map Fall Open Studio Weekend! October 4, 5, 6, 10am to 5 pm each day. You’ll see my work, some of my student’s work, and a whole lot more! Right here in Tara … the showroom and the studio will be open!
Autumn Leaves Studio Tour — yes I will be in two places at once! October 5 & 6 (details later …)
If you happen to be in Southampton — visit the Art Gallery! Some of my work is there on display, and it changes up all the time!
To register for workshops please contact Susan at email@example.com. Full payment is required to reserve your space, and you can drop it off or mail it to Susan McDonald, 229 Concession 6, Tara, Ont. N0H 2N0, or an etransfer would be fine!
Build your own bird-bath workshop. Saturday, July 13, 1-4 pm — right here in the garden! $70 includes materials
Build your own bird-bath — you will make a birdbath that sets right into the ground in your garden shaped like a large leaf, and as soon as it’s dry enough (which shouldn’t take too long outdoors), we’ll finish it off and color it. You will leave it to be fired and can pick it up in a week or so. If there’s time you can make some small ones for the bees as well!
Faerie Houses and doors workshop.
Has been changed to the Fall — probably in October. Keep watching the events page! $90 includes materials
Faerie Houses and doors — everyone loves Faerie Houses! We’ll be making small ones for the garden in bright colors to attract the Faeries. The houses do two things — provide a spot for beneficial insects to get a drink and provide a home for small frogs and toads (along with enticing Faeries of course). If there is time you can make a few doors as well to attach to the base of your trees. You’ll decorate them and leave them to be fired. We’ll hope to get two Faerie houses done!
Please note: Your fee is non-refundable if you cancel your spot any time within 14 days of the start of the class. There is a $5.00 charge if you cancel before that time, but the rest of your deposit will be refunded.
Drinks and a snack will be provided, but if you have special food requirements please bring your own.
