Love may be lovelier the second time around, but this cold sure isn’t!  Thought I was just about done on Monday, reared it’s ugly head again Tuesday, and you would know it’s a time when there is no time for this nonsense!  So back to the health food store I went — visa card in hand — and picked up every darn thing I could think of that might give it the boot.  I’ve oregano’d, elderberried, echinacea’d, made sinus oil (should kill anything), vitamin C’d, slept, and so on, but this is a persistent little bug for sure.

Getting organized.

Getting organized.

Hasn’t stopped me from potting and organizing for the Studio Open House this weekend though … into pricing stuff today (least favorite part of this! Would be great if a professional pricer would come in!).   I have a wall of teapots and accessories, another area of mugs, bowls, platters, and this year I’ll have an area for pieces that don’t quite match my look right now (absolutely nothing wrong with them, but you might pick up a bargain!).

That’s the thing for me, I’ll do a series of pieces (some of which I don’t part with) and then I’ll have an inspiration of some sort and I’m on a pottery bender!  Laughable really, but it does make it look like a psycho potter got loose in my studio sometimes!   I have absconded with some of the last wood firing as well.  Sometimes I just love a piece and have to live with it a bit before I can let it go.  Good thing that doesn’t happen with all of my work, or Gary’s garage would be full!

Today’s my ‘quiet’ day.  No classes during the day, but the day has fled the way that days do.  All of the things I should be doing are dancing in my head — but maybe it will be store bought scones instead of home made ones for the Open House … can only do so much, eh?  And, if I don’t get the pieces priced how can you buy them?

You could win me!

You could win me!

Oh, and don’t forget that you could win this teapot.  Just have to come out and fill in a ballot during the Open House.  You can pick up a spoon rest too.  I’ll give them away until I run out.  It is worth the drive to Frankford!

I’m going to nurse this cold and make sure it’s gone before you get here … but, if you’re tempted, I still wouldn’t kiss me!

Hope you’re having a great day,

Susan McD
